They put you in the hall of shame, because of your horseshoes. They took your address and your name, Hey, what's the use? And what was their excuse? Sometimes you gotta take the bull right by the snout. Sometimes you gotta ache until it's all ached out. She cried when I said she was, but she was not Just like Lisa. Lisa told me there's a book out on her crimes. I've got to go to that library one more time. Sometimes you gotta take the bull right by the snout. Sometimes you gotta ache until it's all ached out. She cried when I said she was, but she was not Just like Lisa.

Love and affection followed me here. Love and affection followed me here. I was a stranger most of a year. Love and affection followed me here. I was living in a tunnel of despair Where the trains roared overhead. Some say I went back to California. Others swear I was dead. But I was a fool for biding my time. To live without love is some kind of crime. You go to a prison of your own design and all the walls are in your mind. Some say I went back to California. Others swear I was dead. But love and affection followed me here. Love and affection followed me here. I was a stranger most of a year. Love and affection followed me here.

If these walls could talk, and the world could stop, and these broken wings could fly. And each day would end with a kiss from a friend who would never say goodby. While running water into the sink I had the sad notion that all of life is brief. If these walls could talk, whoa oh, whoa o whoa oh, ah If these walls could talk, whoa oh, whoa o whoa oh, ah. You say tomorrow the deal is done. I had the sad notion to jump off this train and run. If these walls could talk, they would never stop telling me to go on ahead. 'Cause I taught these walls and the mirror in the hall to be kind to the bed. If these walls could talk, whoa oh, whoa o whoa oh, ah... If these walls could talk, whoa oh, whoa o whoa oh, ah. Ah.

Where I live one room is empty. It makes me feel very small. I can hear the little strangers when they whisper in the halls. I keep files on little strangers. I see them in books and flowers. If I see one in the distance I will stand and stare for hours. I'm waiting here, to write the history of the world. It's so vast and changing, goes from lonely to raging. Sad, sad, sad, And in the closet one left a hat. Blue beret, blue beret, blue beret, blue beret. When I rode the bus this morning there were strangers everywhere. And I could see they're getting smaller. I've got to tell the world out there.

Why can't I walk in the hallways? Why can't I watch the tv? How do my senses deceive me? How do these pills make me sleep? The summer morning's on these window. The window has green in its yard. I want tables, I want flowers. Is this a scar? I tried to talk to the doctor I wandered on down the hall I screamed, they came at me, injected me to the wall. I see, no I don't feel really I feel like I want to crawl I stand and look at the ceiling. I've got to fight. I know my rights, I get one phone call. I know my rights, I get one phone call. I know my rights, I know my rights. I have my own opinions I like my crayons green I know why I am in here I like my countries free. The summer morning's on these window. The window has green in its yard. I want tables, I want flowers. Is this a scar? I know my rights, I get one phone call. I know my rights, I get one phone call. I know my rights, I know my rights.

Hello, I have no weapons. You see my hands are empty. Go ahead and shake it, it is known as a peace gesture. But now the deal is, all about who got there first. Hello I'm going back to Earth Hello I'm going back to Earth Hello I'm going back to Planet Earth. You see that fire across the sea? That use to be my country. That was a victim of a cruel religion. Now there is one where once there were three. Hello I'm going back to Earth Hello I'm going back to Earth Hello I'm going back to Planet Earth.

All songs are the same song. All songs are the same song. All songs are the same song, and they're all about love and loneliness. Did you hear the song of the guy who strove to throw the dice? Then everybody cried, then everybody died. Oo-oo-oo-oo. Oo-oo-oo-oo. All songs are the same song. All songs are the same song. All songs are the same song, And they're all about death and madness. Did you hear the song of the big truck that went and lost its brakes, Then the world began to shake and the world began to wake. Oo-oo-oo-oo. Oo-oo-oo-oo. All songs are the same song. All songs are the same song. All songs are the same song, And they're all about lust and tenderness Did you hear the song of the big day and the big daddy pie? He never could say hello but he always could say hi. Oo-oo-oo-oo. Oo-oo-oo-oo. And we sang all night about love and loneliness. And we sang all night about lust and tenderness. And we sang all night about death and madness, And we all sang the same song. And we all sang the same song.

I'm whispering what I'm gonna do to you, to you. I'm whispering how I'm gonna move through you, to you. I know this world can never be free for the likes of you and me, and so we must pretend, oh my friend, and keep on whispering, keep on whispering. Somebody told me that you do something new. Is that true? I'm whispering now how I'm gonna move through you, to you. I know this world can never be free for the likes of you and me, and so we must pretend, oh my friend, and keep on whispering, keep on whispering. Euphoria! Euphoria! Euphoria!

Barko the clown dog never had a chance, so he made believe that he did. He always loved that kid, and they went everywhere. They just didn't care. Barko the clown dog had a big blue nose, and the people would laugh and they'd say, 'Hey Barko, how'd you get that way?' And he'd say 'Well, you know, it's all part of the show.' Barko, you idiot, you're never gonna gediot. She had you after all. Barko your momma had a great imagination. Barko the clown dog traveled through space and Time, to see what he could see. That everyone would be everything they could be eventually. Barko your momma had a great imagination! Barko the clown dog never had a chance, so he made believe that he did. He always loved that kid, and they went everywhere. They just didn't care.

You can't make it if you're rich or poor, No you can't, you can't make it alone. You can't make it if you're fast or slow, No you can't, you can't make it alone. You can't make it high, You can't make it low. The raging river is wide and deep. And you can't, you can't make it alone. You've got to give a friend a helping hand, Cause he can't, he can't make it alone. You've got to ask your neighbor for a hand, Cause you can't, you can't make it alone. Many helping hands Help to lighten the load. The raging river is wide and deep. And you can't, you can't make it alone. The 3rd verse is a repeat of the first. Though it's not done in this recording, ideally the 3rd verse should go up one key. For example, if sung in the key of E, it should go up to F. This ought to make the song more fun and dramatic.

The deeper the sleeper, the better the dream. Walk in a world that is not what it seems. Through mountains and valley and rivers and streams. The deeper the sleeper, the better the dream. What if some Sunday, everyone slept? They didn't get up and they just stayed in bed? The churches are empty, the shops unattended. What if some Sunday, everybody slept? Your dreams are yours and yours alone. More than your car, and more than your home. Your car may come and your home may go But your dreams are yours and yours alone. The deeper the sleeper, the better the dream. Walk in a world that is not what it seems. Through mountains and valley and rivers and streams. The deeper the sleeper, the better the dream.
