Three separate and seemingly unrelated tracks make up this sound collage, an attempt to capture the spirit of a fictional autobiography I'd written about life in San Francisco in the 1980's. The first segment is found footage, morphed, of a commercial for Japan's commuter trains. The second, backward masking of a guitar piece, with stereo enhancement. And the third, a cut-up of a free-form song session. The title of the song, as well as the book, is 'Artists And Whores'.
lyrics
They say that talk is cheap. Yeah.
I can't afford to talk in my sleep. Yeah.
In the Tenderloin. Yeah.
It's all artists and whores. Yeah.
